Recommended Daily & KCPT set to launch new partnership

kcpt-031816We’re writing today with incredibly exciting news. The Recommended Daily has a new dance partner and we can’t wait to get down to the latest beat. On March 28, we’ll be officially joining KCPT’s digital magazine,

For the past year, we’ve had the opportunity to work with KCPT on a weekly Friday story. Last October, we released Today’s Special — a five-part video series on local tastes and tastemakers that covered everything from Boulevard Brewing Company’s backpacks at Kauffman Stadium to the pork tenderloin sliders at The Rieger. And now, we get the opportunity to build on the work we’ve done through this new partnership.

But What Does That Mean for Me? The Reader?

More. It’s more of everything. We get to tell bigger stories and stories in different ways. We can bring you stories on video, and audio tales to feed your heart or soul while you eat lunch.

It means that you’ll be seeing those stories online at and on-air at KCPT for the rest of 2016. And we’ll be bringing you new events (and hopefully returning some old favorites) with the KCPT team.

What Does That Mean for You? Recommended Daily?

It means we have more resources to bring you stories. We get to utilize the videographers, photographers, writers, producers, designers and creative talents of the people at KCPT.

It means that we get to experiment with new ways to bring you content across a multitude of platforms. And we can do more in-depth reporting, which is the reason we got into this thing in the first place.

What’s Next?

Well, first we have to say, ‘thank you.’ Thank you for support our events and reading our stories. Thank you for being a loyal audience. Thank you for telling us what you want (keep doing that, by the way). And thank you for helping us shine a light on fascinating people and places in Kansas City.

For us, we’re going to put our head down and go chase stories. Keep telling us where to go. We’re in this thing together.
