There’s a big shift in the Kansas City barbecue universe today as Oklahoma Joe’s officially changes its name to Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que. Here’s their explanation posted to Facebook this morning:
The signs are changing around town and, henceforth, Oklahoma Joe’s will be known as Joe’s Kansas City. There’s more detail on the new moniker, which has been in use the past two years on their rubs and sauces, on their site. What do you think of the new name?

From what I have read elsewhere, this has just as much to do with breaking from the Oklahoma Joe’s in Oklahoma it does KC pride. Not that I particularly care, but it isn’t as benevolent as it is purported to be.
