BADSEED Finale & other weekend possibilities

The BADSEED Farmers Market (1909 McGee Street) holds its last market from 4 to 7 p.m. [Owners Brooke Salvaggio and Dan Heryer are closing the market in order to focus on their own farm, Urbavore.] After the market, they’ll be hosting a potluck dinner and party to celebrate with friends, farmers and the community.

Ca Va (4149 Pennsylvania) turns two this weekend with a celebratory anniversary brunch on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Think mimosas and birthday cake at the Westport champagne bar.

Waldo Week kicks off this Saturday — an effort to get you shop and discover in the neighborhood — and runs through March 4. In Waldo, One More Cup (7408 Wornall Road) celebrates its seventh anniversary on Saturday too. The Waffler returns with Maple Bacon Meggos, along with free coffee from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 7099 Wornall Road.

Ever wondered how many oysters a human can eat? Find out the answer Saturday at Jax Fish House (4814 Roanoke Parkway) with the 2nd annual Oyster Eating Contest (doors open at 2 p.m., contest is at 2:45 p.m). If you’re not competing (please don’t compete), grab a taste of Jax’s Oyster Stout collaboration with Cinder Block Brewery.

Cleaver & Cork turns one this Sunday [Breakfast happy hour starts next weekend]. They’re having a party Sunday night at 7 p.m. feature a cadre of local bartenders — Andrew Olsen, Berto Santoro and Brock Schulte. Tickets are $10.

The Screenland Armour (408 Armour Road, North Kansas City) is hosting an Oscar Party on Sunday night, alongside Scene-Stealers, Lost in Reviews and Boom Howdy, from 6 to 11:30 p.m. The free party will feature the Academy Awards broadcast on the big screen, movie trivia, and the chance to guess the Oscar winners for movie-related prizes.
